In Western New York, there is a wind advisory in place today from 7 am until 6 pm for Northern Eire, Niagara, Orleans, and Genesee counties. There could be wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour. Officials warn that you should monitor items like outdoor patio furniture and garbage bins.
The good news is that the Winter storm warning and winter weather advisories that were issued for central New York have been canceled.
Overall the weather should improve for much of the state today with some sunshine on tap. We will also start to see some above-average temperatures as we get closer to the weekend.
