
You Can Help Grant Senior Wishes In Western New York
It is a new year, and the local non-profit Senior Wishes is looking for people to grant wishes to in 2026.
What Is Senior Wishes?
Senior Wishes is a local non-profit in Western New York that works with local seniors to help grant them special wishes every year. Wishes range from going to the Buffalo Zoo to meeting Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff.
They serve most of Western New York and use grants, donations, and other funding to provide wishes for seniors in need. There are some guidelines when it comes to nominating a senior for a wish.
- Must be a resident of Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee,e or Wyoming Counties in New York State
- Must be 65 years of age or older
- U.S. Citizen
- Annual income must be less than $38,000 for a household of one or $44,000 for a household of two OR a permanent resident of a care facility
- Must be cognitively, emotionally, and physically capable of communicating and experiencing the wish. (You do NOT need a medical diagnosis to apply for a wish)
- Unable to fulfill the wish on your own or with family assistance
How To Nominate A Senior For A Wish
If you are a senior or know a senior who meets the above requirements and wants to have a wish fulfilled, you can submit their information online to the Senior Wishes wish granting committeee. You can submit the information HERE.
Wishes can range from trips to local farms to lake fishing, to getting a new mp3 player, so they can listen to music or books on tap.
