May is going to be a very special month for the non-profit Senior Wishes. After 13 years of granting wishes to seniors across Western New York, they are set to grant their 500th wish, and it will be a special group wish.

Senior Wishes To Grant 500th Wish In Western New York

Wendy Miller Backman, the executive director of Senior Wishes, announced that the non-profit's next wish will be a group wish for the seniors at Pine Apartments in Lockport and will be the 500th wish granted by the non-profit.

Senior Wishes will be providing four raised garden beds and two wine barrel planters, along with soil, gardening tools, gloves, and many different vegetable plants to make the perfect garden.

The resident will be able to go out to the patio and get fresh vegetables during the year while helping tend to the garden to keep it up and running for years to come.
The seniors at Pine Apartments were nominated for the wish by an employee of the apartments after having several residents ask about a possible garden.
Employees of Crowley Webb chose Senior Wishes as their charity of choice for their recent employee engagement day, and their donation is set to help make this 500th wish come true. Niagara Produce is also donating a gift card to help start the garden.
