The goal for many football players and coaches besides winning a championship is to make it into the Hall of Fame.

Being selected to a Hall of Fame means you were one of the best at what you do. Buffalo Bill head coach Sean McDermott will now have that honor attached to his name.

Earlier this week, McDermott's college William and Mary announced that the Buffalo Bills head coach will be inducted into their college athletics hall of fame.

During his career at Willam and Mary's, McDermott played 46 games as a defensive back, starting 26  of them, including every game in his junior and senior years.  Overall during his career, McDermott made 322 tackles and four interceptions. He also forced three fumbles while recovering six fumbles.

During his senior year, McDermott was named team captain of the 1997 team. That year he also was named third-team all-conference and second-team All-ECAC honors.

He picked up several other awards during his career as well. He also earned Academic All-Conference honors in both 1996 and 1997, and in the spring of 1998, he was named a National Strength & Conditioning All-American.
