McDermott Announces Two Important Bills Starters Won’t Play Sunday
The Buffalo Bills will be playing the Minnesota Vikings at Highmark Stadium this Sunday afternoon. It's just the second 1 pm home game for Buffalo this season, which is pretty incredible, considering that the vast majority of home games used to be at 1 pm.
The biggest storyline this week has been the injury that quarterback Josh Allen suffered on the last drive of the game in this past Sunday's loss against the New York Jets.
Allen has been nursing an ulnar collateral ligament injury in his throwing elbow and has not yet practiced this week. There have been suggestions on social media that Allen would miss at least a game or two, but head coach Sean McDermott said on Wednesday that Allen is day-to-day and we have to wait and see if he plays against the Vikings.
On Friday morning, McDermott confirmed on WGR radio that Allen is still day-to-day and a determination has not been made on whether or not he plays. He says Allen's status is "hour by hour"...
However, McDermott did say that safety Jordan Poyer and edge rusher Greg Rousseau won't play on Sunday against the Vikings.
Poyer missed last week's game against the Jets and also missed the week 3 game against the Miami Dolphins. This means Damar Hamlin, Jaquan Johnson and Dean Marlowe will be called upon against a very talented Vikings offense, which includes Justin Jefferson, T.J. Hockenson, Adam Thielen and Dalvin Cook.
Rousseau not playing means Von Miller will have more on his plate.
We have to wait and see if Matt Milano, Tre'Davious White, Tremaine Edmunds and Kaiir Elam play.
