The end of March was a lucky one for one Powerball lottery player in New York State.

The New York State Lottery announced that one "Big Money" winning ticket was sold from Monday Night's Powerball drawing in the "Empire State." That ticket matched four out of five numbers and also had the Powerball number to win the 3rd place prize of $50,000.

That ticket beat the 1 in 913,129.18 odds to win the cash.

Monday's winning Powerball numbers were 12-41-44-52-64 with a Powerball of 25.

March was a lucky month for Powerball players in New York State. There were 12 "Big Money" winning tickets sold in New York this month, with each one of those tickets winning at least $50,000. One ticket sold in March won $1 million dollars as well. That ticket matched all five numbers but missed out on the Powerball number to win the 2nd-place prize.

There was also one grand prize-winning Powerball ticket sold in March. It was the first Powerball grand prize winner since January.

Here is to hoping that April will be just as lucky as March was for Powerball players. Your first chance to win in the month of April will come up on Wednesday, April 2nd. The Powerball is drawn every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday Night.

Since no one claimed the grand prize in Monday Night's Powerball drawing, the jackpot for Wednesday's drawing will be $30 million dollars.

Powerball tickets cost $2 per ticket or $3 per ticket with the Powerball.
