Police Continue To Investigate Threat At Sweet Home Middle School
The Amherst Police along with School officials from Sweet Home Middle school continue to investigate a threat made against the school on Wednesday afternoon.
Superintendent Tony Day send a message to parents saying several students came forward with more information about the threat.
The investigation into the Middle School threat situation is continuing.
The student charged yesterday afternoon remains in police custody. Today, several middle school students brought forward additional information that is being investigated by Amherst police and school administrators. The continuing investigation is focused upon other students that may have had knowledge of the threat and any possible involvement they may have had in it.
We are very proud of the students that came forward with information to assist our administrative team in this work. We absolutely recognize the serious nature of this situation and ask everyone's patience while we complete a full and thorough investigation. We will continue to share new developments as they emerge and will offer a summary of the situation when the investigation is complete.
The Amherst Police have assured us that our schools are safe and that there is no danger to any student or staff member.
