    Three Sisters Islands

The Three Sisters Islands lie off the south shore of Goat Island. The islands are part of Niagara Falls, New York.

Accessible from Goat Island, the Three Sisters Islands are located just beyond the Canada/U.S. border in Niagara Falls, New York. The islands are named after sisters; Celinda, Angelina, and Asenath Whitney, daughters of General Parkhurst Whitney. General Whitney, was a prominent early settler of Niagara Falls, New York. General Whitney's daughters are believed to be the first settlers to have visited the three small islands.

Each island has its own floristic character. The Three Sisters Islands are connected by bridges, allowing pedestrians to walk to all three for grand views of the raging rapids in the Niagara River and the Falls.

    Niagara Gorge Trail

This trail provides a nice hike along the Niagara Gorge Rim and the Niagara River, which offers a great opportunity to see the whirlpool and rapids on the Lower Niagara River. The descent into the gorge is steep in places with some sections of tricky footing.

The route starts at Devil's Hole parking area. The wide trail follows the rim of Niagara Gorge through hardwood tree groves and offers continuous views of the stunningly blue Niagara River, where you can watch tour boats riding up and down the rapids in the river.

At one mile from the trailhead, one route on the right descends into the gorge.  At the bottom of the gorge, the route splits. The left fork heads to the Whirlpool Rapids Trail.
