If you plan on spending any time in downtown Buffalo, expect to start paying more to park in a city-owned spot. The city announced they will be switching over to a new APP that charges a higher fee, and that cost will be passed on to you.

City Of Buffalo Changing Parking App

Currently, the City of Buffalo is using the parking app "Buffalo Roam" for it's meters. They will change over to a new app called "Park Mobile," which is used in several major cities across the country.

That switch will end up costing you more to park if you use the app. Park Mobile charges a $.60 processing fee for every transaction, which it splits with the city.

According to WIVB, the Buffalo Roam app only charged $.11 per transaction. So you will end up paying almost $.50 more to park if you use the app.

Customers who have a Buffalo Roam balance will be able to use up that balance during the transition to the new app.

Of course, you can still pay at physical meters and skip the processing fee

City Of Buffalo Parking Enforcement Rules

Buffalo parking enforces the parking rules Monday through Saturday from 8 am until 5 pm. You are allowed to park for free outside those enforced hours and overnight when the Winter overnight parking ban is not in effect.

You can download the Park Mobile App HERE.

There is no set date when the transition from Buffalo Roam to Park Mobile will happen. You will be able to use both apps until the transition is complete.
