Summertime is almost here and if you are one of the lucky people to have your own pool in your backyard, this message is for you.

PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOUR POOL!

Most pools are being opened right now or have been in the past couple of weeks but some pool owners have decided this year they are not going to use their pool so they are just going to let it sit there all summer long.

Please don't do this. We have one person in our neighborhood who has an above-ground pool with water just sitting in it. The water is green and stagnant.

You know what that brings right? Stagnant water brings bugs and mosquitos.

Mosquitos are one of the deadliest creatures in the world and because of their ability to pass along diseased infected blood from person to person, we should be doing everything we can to keep them away.

If you don't want to use your pool anymore, please make sure you still take care of it. Keep it drained or knock it down if you don't want it.

You could also turn your inground pool into a fire pit area. Build a nice small fire pit in the middle, put chairs around it, and enjoy. You could turn it into a garden area as well.

Anything would be better than just leaving it with gross, green, stagnant water sitting in it.
