Parts of New York continue to see falling snow today but in just a couple of days, the weather is set to make a complete 180.

According to Accuweather.com, a major warm front is coming through New York at the end of the week.

Looking across the state, in Western New York, we will see a warm-up to around 50 by Friday, and then heading into the weekend we will see temps in the 50s along with scattered rain showers.

In central New York, the warm front will move across the area starting on Wednesday 50s in the forecast starting on Thursday through New Year's Day.

Up near Albany, the cold weather will last a little longer as the temps will remain in the 40s until Saturday when the high is expected to be around 50.

Down in New York City, the weather will be sunny for much of the week with the temperatures getting into the 50s by Friday.

Of course, will the warmer weather coming through New York State, many areas that are dealing with snow and snow piles could see possible flooding issues when the snow starts to melt.

Also, the warmer weather could lead to more lake effect snow in 2023 as the temperatures of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario hover near freezing. Until both those lake freeze, the chance of lake effect snow remains high and could add to the total amount of snow already dumped along the snow belt areas of New York.
