While some wild weather is on the way to parts of New York State, it could be much needed.

New York State is currently suffering from historic drought conditions and much of the state is under a drought watch.

A watch is the first advisory that can be issued during a drought. No water restrictions have been issued but that could change if conditions worsen.


Parts of New York downstate have already had that watch upgraded to a warning.
