New York Home To “Big Money” Mega Millions Winners

No one claimed the grand prize jackpot from last night's Mega Millions drawing but the good news is that there were some very lucky lottery players in New York.

The New York State Lottery announced that there were two "Big Money" winning tickets sold in New York from last night's drawing.

Each of those tickets matched 4 out of 5 numbers and also had the Mega Ball so they won the 3rd place prize of $10,000.

There were four $1 million dollars winning tickets sold from last night's Mega Millions. Those tickets were sold in California, North Carolina, and Florida.

Tuesday's winning Mega Millions numbers were: 11-17-33-39-43 with a Mega Ball of 14.

If you are looking for an edge the next time you play the Mega Millions, here is a look at the most commonly drawn Mega Millions numbers since 1996.

These five numbers have all been drawn over 250 times since 1996. The five most frequent numbers are 17, 31, 10, 46, and 20

Looking at the Mega Ball, only six numbers have been drawn more than 100 times since 1996. Those numbers are 1, 3, 9, 7 10,

So if you want an edge, you might consider playing those numbers.

The next Mega Millions drawing is coming up on Friday and the jackpot is up to $228 million dollars. That would make it the 5th largest jackpot ever won in New York State history if someone from New York were to win it.

Daniel Bruckner claimed the Mega Millions jackpot winning just a shade over $200 million dollars in December of 2011.

Seven co-workers from Albany pulled their money and had the winning ticket for the Mega Millions. They took home $319 million dollars in 2011.

3. $326 Million Dollars

Harold Diamond held the record for the largest lottery jackpot in New York for seven years. He took home the Mega Millions jackpot in 2014.

2. $432 Million Dollars

This winning Mega Millions ticket was sold in September of 2021. The NY Lottery does not know who owns the tickets.

1. $476 Million Dollars

Johnnie Taylor took home the jackpot from the Mega Millions drawing in April of 2023.
