The New York Lottery is the largest and most profitable lottery in North America and has been giving back to school districts in New York since 1967.
Since 1967, The New York Lottery has given over $82 billion dollars to the education system in New York State.
The New York Lottery uses the same formula used by the state to distribute the funds to each school district. It takes into account both a school district's size and its income level; larger, lower-income school districts receive proportionately larger shares of Lottery school funding.
