The NFL owner meetings are set to wrap up today, and they passed a couple of new rules that could benefit the Buffalo Bills this upcoming season.

Every year, the NFL owners and committees meet in Florida to go over the upcoming season and proposals from teams to change or create new rules for the game.

This year, there are a couple of changes that could end up helping out the Buffalo Bills.

Overtime Rule Changes

One of the changes is that each team will now get the chance to go on offense in overtime. The current rule is that if the first team scores a touchdown, the second team would not get the ball back. That is now changed so that each offense gets at least one chance to play. The only time that an offense would not see the field in overtime is if the team gets a defensive touchdown on the opening drive.

Kickoff Touchback Rule Changes

In an effort to being more excitement and potential scoring to the league, the NFL announced they changed where touchbacks will be placed at the 35-yard line instead of the 30. They hope this will encourage kicking teams to kick the ball into play instead of through the endzone for a touchback.

Each one of these rules could really help out the Bills. Giving Josh Allen a chance to score in Overtime is always a good thing, and the Bills have a couple of speedy returners, so the odds of a good return are pretty high.
