“Big Money” Winning Mega Millions Ticket Sold In New York

Someone in New York was very happy after Friday night's Mega Millions drawing. The New York State Lottery announced that there was one "Big Money" winning ticket sold in the "Empire State."

There was one 3rd-place winning Mega Millions ticket sold in New York from Friday's drawing. Those tickets matched four out of five numbers and also matched the Mega Ball number. That ticket won the 3rd-place prize of $50,000.

There were also 23 4th-place winning tickets sold in New York. Those tickets matched four out of five numbers but missed the Mega Ball number. Those tickets won between $1000 and $5000 each based on each ticket's built-in Megaplier.

The New York State Lottery also announced that there were 39 5th-place winning tickets sold in New York. Those tickets matched three out of five numbers and also had the Megaball number.

Here were the winning numbers from last night's Mega Millions drawing. 4-21-27-33-49 with a Megaball of 21.

There was no grand prize winner from Friday night's Mega Millions drawing. That means the jackpot is now up to a New York State record-breaking $497 million dollars for the next drawing coming up on Tuesday.

The Current record for the largest lottery jackpot in New York State history is $476 million dollars. That record was set back in 2023 when Johnnie Taylor won the Mega Millions grand prize jackpot.
