“Big Money” Mega Millions Winning Ticket Sold In New York

Friday's Mega Millions drawing was a lucky one for lottery players in New York State.

The New York State Lottery announced there was one "Big Money" winning ticket sold in New York from Friday's Mega Millions drawing.

That ticket matched four out of five numbers and also has the Mega Ball to win the third-place prize of $10,000.

Friday's winning Mega Millions numbers were: 15-22-31-52-57 with a Mega Ball of 02.

On top of the one "Big Money" winning ticket there were plenty of fourth and fifth winning tickets that took home some serious cash.

There were 28 4th place winning tickets sold. Each one of these tickets matched four out of five numbers to win at least $500. Three tickets had the Megaplier which was three times the prize amount and won $1500.

There were also 84 fourth place winners. Each one of these tickets matched three numbers and also had the Mega Ball to win at least $200. 14 of those tickets also had the Megaplier and took home $600.

No one claimed the grand prize from Friday's Mega Millions drawing so the jackpot for the next drawing is now up to $344 million dollars. The next drawing for the Mega Millions is coming up on Tuesday.

You can expect some big changes to the Mega Millions in April. An official with the lottery game announced they are raising the cost of a ticket from $2 to $5. They said this would allow for bigger payouts and more winners. The change is expected to take place starting on April 4th.
