“Big Money” Mega Millions Winners In New York

The start of April was a lucky one for Mega Millions players in New York State.

The New York State Lottery announced there was one "Big Money" winning ticket sold from Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing. That ticket matched four out of five numbers and also had the Mega Ball and won the 3rd place prize of $10,000.

There were also 23 4th-place winning tickets with each one of those tickets winning at least $500. Three of the tickets also had the Megaplier, which was double the amount, so they won $1000. Those tickets matched four out of five numbers but missed the Mega Ball.

No one claimed the grand prize jackpot from Tuesday's drawing, which means the jackpot for Friday's drawing is now up to $43 million.

Here are the winning numbers from last night's Mega Millions drawing: 11-12-21-29-49 with a Mega Ball of 03.

Some big changes are coming to the Mega Millions game next week. Officials with the lottery game announced a major price hike for tickets. The cost of a ticket will jump from $2 to $5 per ticket.

The new price of a ticket reflects the inclusion of the Megaplier in every ticket. The jackpots will also get bigger, with nonjackpot winning prizes being increased due to the inclusion of the Megaplier.

The base jackpot prize will also increase. Under the current setup, the prize resets to $20 million after someone wins the jackpot. under the new game that will increase to $50 million dollars.

The changes and ticket price increase are set to start on April 8th.
