Lancaster! A Dog Park is Coming Your Way?

Lancaster, a group of ladies is leading the pack in an initiative that will hopefully result in a dog park in town! The closest place for a dog park is probably out in East Aurora and with 6,000 licensed dogs in Lancaster, it would be super convenient and awesome to have a park for them.

The group needs a good amount of money to start and execute a plan once approved. They have events throughout the year to raise funds:

1. A town park in Lancaster - We have attended a town board meeting and spoken to town officials about available places. At this time, it looks like they don't have anything that is the size/location we are seeking.
2. Como Lake Park in Lancaster, which is a county park - We spoke before the Erie County Energy & Environment Committee in November 2017, and met with some county representatives in January 2018. While we don't have a firm commitment from them, we are going to talk with them again once the Parks Department releases its new Master Plan within the next few months.
3. We may look into sending a proposal to the Village of Lancaster as well.
