It looks like a community staple is shutting down its doors as the owner is set to retire.

According to the website, nextdoor.com, John's Corner Store on Camp road in Hamburg is set to close.
John's Corner store is located on the corner of Sunset Drive and Camp Road in Hamburg, right near the entrance and exit by the 90.
The store was known for its homemade mac salad and chicken salad. I also heard stories that John would stay open during bad storms so people could get food and supplies if they needed them.
Many people took to the site to show their appreciation for John and his staff for what they have done for the area and the food they have served over the years.
While no set date was given for the closing date of the store, it has been posted that the store will be closed at some point in April.
Some people on the website were calling for the neighbors in the area to support the store before it officially closes.
It seems that more and more smaller businesses are shutting down after the pandemic. From the lack of employees to the ease of ordering from big box stores, small businesses in Western New York continue to fight an uphill battle.
As someone who lives in the area, I am sad that the store is shutting down but excited for John and his family to start the next chapter of their lives.
