It's road work season in the 716. The snow is gone, and the potholes are aplenty. Here's where you'll see work crews in Erie County.

No one loves construction. It slows down traffic and, when in neighborhoods, can be loud. However, it has to be done. You paid for it with your taxes, too, so it kind of better be done!

Work crews will be fixing more than piothoiles, too. There are drainage issues, sewer work, sidewalk repairs, power line maintenance, road painting, and tons of stuff that need to be given attention. There are over 300 routes and 1,176 centerlane miles to be maintained just in the county.

Where Road Work is Happening in Western New York For May

The Eire County Department of Public Works does a great job of keeping the public up to date on social media. Here is where you will see road crews beginning May 1.

This does not include the City of Buffalo.

Remember always to slow down and move over when you see workers on the road. They have a dangerous job, and don't need people creating more dangers for them.  Fines are often doubled when speeding through work zones in New York State.

Cherry Blossoms Bloom In Buffalo's Delaware Park

Hundreds of Western New Yorkers descend on the Japanese Gardens in Buffalo's Delaware Park to observe dozens of Cherry Blossom trees as they bloom for spring. Nature seekers were in Buffalo's premier public park after the City's famous Cherry Blossom Festival, yet another sign that spring has finally arrived in the Empire State after a long winter.
