Here Is What’s Happening In Western New York: Thursday Edition
Here is a look at today's top trending stories.
1 – We have another cold day on tap today with temperatures hovering around the upper teens and low 20s across Western New York. Some experts think this could be the coldest January since 2011, but it will not be the coldest month in NY history. That honor goes to February of 2015, when the average temp was 12.2 degrees. We won’t be that cold this month but the average temp for the rest of January is expected to be below normal.
2- You can save yourself a trip to the mailbox today as the United States Postal Service will not be delivering mail today. Like most Government offices and the Stock Market, the USPS is closed today for a National Day of Mourning to honor former President Jimmy Carter who passed away at the age of 100 a couple of weeks ago. His national funeral will be held later this morning and you can watch it on any of the major broadcast networks along with CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News.
3-Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady is getting plenty of attention when it comes to head coaching openings in the NFL, but one Bills player told the media that other teams should stay away from him. Josh Allen was joking around when he mentioned that Brady wouldn’t be a good fit for any of the teams looking for a new head coach. Of course, Brady will showcase his play-calling skill on Sunday as the Bills host the Denver Broncos in the opening round of the NFL playoffs this Sunday at Highmark Stadium.
