UB Bulls Women’s Basketball Off To Historic Start
Living in a sports city like Buffalo, folks in Western New York can appreciate when we have a winning team. You don't have to look much farther than all of the hoopla that happens when the Buffalo Bills take the field, or the Buffalo Bandits play inside the box.
While people in the 716 support their teams regardless of how well they're playing, it's nice to watch a winning team in action.
With that in mind, if you're looking to see some high-level action on the hardwood, then you should take a trip up to Alumni Arena at the University at Buffalo, as the Bulls Women's Basketball Team is off to a record-breaking start in the NCAA. The team has started the 2024/25 season in historic fashion, as they have done something that hasn't been done before at the University at Buffalo: start an undefeated season.
The Women's Division 1 team has started the season 12-0 and has dominated just about every team they have faced so far this season. Not only are the Bulls undefeated, but they have won the battle for New York State as they have crushed every single opponent that calls the Empire State home.
As the team starts conference play, they've already beaten their Mid-American Conference rival Central Michigan 81-55 on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Kirsten Lewis-Williams led the team in points and rebounds in the victory over Central Michigan, going 7/14 while dropping 19 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
The team, which has its work cut out for them as they have upcoming games against Ohio, Ball State, and Bowling Green, is flying high and could use your support at Alumni Arena this season.
You can find the team's schedule and information about tickets here on the University at Buffalo website.
