The Police Services Division of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents for help in identifying the male suspect. He is a white or Hispanic male who goes by the name Jose. He is described as being older and of average height and weight.
Jose has been involved in scams where he portrays himself as a Walmart District Manager. He goes to businesses in the area and asks people to go with him to Walmart where they can purchase electronics at cheap prices. Once at the store, Jose interacts with employees as if he is also employed by Walmart. When he receives payment for the electronics he flees the store. This scam happened at the Walmart in Clarence. There have also been reports of him asking children if they wanted cheap iPads.
