If you haven't realized it yet, election season is in full swing this year.

New Yorkers are no strangers to that fact, as we just completed the third of our four scheduled elections here in the Empire State.

Political debates are a key part of the electoral process, and a big debate occurred on Thursday, June 27, 2024, between current President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.

At the end of that debate, people were just as divided as ever. Democrats accused Trump of speaking several lies during the debate, while Republicans said Biden's debate performance shows he's unfit for office. No matter what side of the political fence you land on, it's clear that the 2024 Presidential Election is turning out to be a watershed moment for American politics.

With that in mind, there has been a lot of speculation lately about whether or not President Biden, who's set to turn 82 this year, is too old to continue to run for President. Part of that debate surrounds the possibility that Biden would step down from running and be replaced by another key and powerful Democrat. But who could possibly replace him?

Several powerful Democrats, including New York Governor Kathy Hochul, are traveling to Washington to meet with the President. While we can only speculate on the topic, several national news outlets, like Politico, CNN, the Washington Post, Newsweek, and more, are asking the same questions.

As we all know, elections have consequences, so we will have to wait to see what happens.
