Recently, a Buffalo man who had been on the run was extradited from Alabama after allegedly killing his step-daughter. Peter D. Brown, 38, is accused of killing 20-year-old Kayshawna M. Jordan on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024, around 4:30 am, according to Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane. Jordan was found dead in a bedroom at a home on East Ferry Street after police responded to a 911 call. The Erie County Medical Examiner attributes her death to "strangulation and blunt impact injuries to the head."

Brown was caught last month by deputies from Randolph County, Alabama, and arrested on a fugitive warrant. He is facing 25 years to life in prison if he is convicted.
