These 15 people in Cattaraugus County are registered animal abusers. As a bona fide animal lover, I have a real disdain for people who abuse animals. If you realize that you are unable to care for an animal, work to rehome it. There are lots of resources available for people who just can't care for their pets anymore. Also, people really need to think about whether they will be able to commit to becoming a pet parent. It is a long-term commitment, not a cute photo op for social media.

If you plan on providing an animal to another person in Cattaraugus County or New York, where there is a registry, you must check it first.

Anyone selling, giving away or adopting an animal to another person in Cattaraugus County must check the registry prior to any change in ownership. Giving, selling or adopting an animal to a person on the registry is a violation of county law.
