Buffalo Black Restaurant Week Is Back And Bigger for 2026

As we inch closer to the end of summer, many around Western New York might have the idea that they need to hurry up and spend some more time outside. One of the best things about living in the Buffalo area is that we have pretty awesome summers when the warm weather arrives. But, the downside of Buffalo summers is that they are way too short and you often have to squeeze several activities into a little bit of time.

One pastime that the people of Buffalo and Western New York love is eating. It's been said for generations that Buffalo is a foodie city with a sports and drinking problem, which I think many of us natives would agree with, and if you need to find some time to do just that, there is a great community-wide event that you need to put on your to-do list before time runs out.

Not only does Buffalo boast two of America's best food festivals with the Taste of Buffalo and The National Buffalo Chicken Wing Festival, but there is also a weekend-long food event that you need ot try out. Especially this year because the organizers of Black Restaurant Week 716 are here to promise that 2026 has even more to offer than ever, and you can find the list of every restaurant participating in this amazing event.

What Is Black Restaurant Week 716?

The Buffalo Urban League is a non-profit group dedicated to supporting community, diversity, and entrepreneurship in Buffalo and Western New York, and its Young Professionals auxiliary does the heavy lifting to sponsor a week that is dedicated to highlighting minority-owned restaurants and other food service businesses that you may not normally hear all that much about. This year's Black Restaurant Week features tons of Restaurants, Food Trucks, and Catering Services from around Western New York, along with several food options that only cost $20.26.

Thanks to a strategic partnership the Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals have made with the Exchange at Beverly Gray, this year's Black Restaurant Week is more than food; it's a full celebration that will help build even more synergy with National Black Business Month. The food-filled activities begin on Monday, August 10, and continue through Sunday, August 16, 2026.
