Several Buffalo Bills Set To Become Free Agents
Now that the NFL Season is officially over for the hometown team, the players are in the process of cleaning out their lockers. Team officials, including the coaching staff and front office team, start looking towards the offseason and preparing for the 2025-26 season.
Those preparations include getting ready for the move across the street to the new Highmark Stadium and making sure the Buffalo Bills are a competitive football team on the field. One of the key things that team officials are going to have to deal with is what personnel to bring back to the team and what personnel the team needs to move away from.
The Bills have some hard decisions ahead of them as there are several players who were key to the team's success this year and are set to become free agents this year. What players will the team pursue to come back, and what players will the Bills not be able to afford to retain? This is key since, according to OverTheCap.com, the Bills are at least $12 million over the salary cap for the coming season.
There are 16 players set to become free agents in some capacity this year:
- Unrestricted Free Agents
- Amari Cooper
- Rasul Douglas
- Tommy Doyle
- Reid Ferguson
- Reggie Gilliam
- Damar Hamlin
- Mack Hollins
- Quinton Jefferson
- Austin Johnson
- Ty Johnson
- Jordan Phillips
- Dawuane Smoot
- Unrestricted Free Agents
- Shane Buechele
- Quintin Morris
- Exclusive Rights Free Agent
- Alec Anderson
- Ryan Van Demark
Of these 16 players, who were the most key to the team's progress in 2024? I think the Bills have to find a way to return Cooper, Hamlin, Hollins, Gilliam, and Phillips.
Who do you think the team should look to bring back?
