If you're a meat-eater, your ears should be perking up! These 5 retailers that sell groceries in New York have been named among the highest quality meat departments in America. ChowHound put together a list of grocery stores with the highest quality meat counters.

New Yorkers know that Wegmans is synonymous with quality. According to a survey by Consumers' Checkbook in Boston, the Delaware Valley, and the Washington D.C. area, Wegmans was among the highest-rated for meat quality. Wegmans sources its meat from local farms, giving shoppers fresher options. Tasting Table agrees with Chow Hound, ranking Wegmans at #2 on its "20 Popular Chain Grocery Stores For Meat, Ranked" list.

Costco

Of course, you have to be a member to shop Costco's meat department, but if you do have a membership, you are getting high-quality meat. Because Costco sells in bulk, you're looking at spending more, but you'll also be getting more.
