Western New York Native Signs With The Buffalo Bills
One local guy is getting an opportunity to live out his dreams playing professional football in his hometown of Buffalo, NY.
Joe Andreessen is from Depew, NY and he graduated from Lancaster High School. While in high school, Andreessen was a two-year starter and he was a two-time All-State linebacker.
After high school, Andreessen went on to play college football, where he attended Bryant before transferring back home to spend his final season at the University at Buffalo.
In his final college season, Andreessen started all 12 games as linebacker for the Bulls, leading the team with 90 tackles.
Andreessen participated in the Bills’ rookie minicamp on a try-out basis, and it must have caught their attention because over the weekend, Andreessen has now signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent.
Growing up, you may dream of getting a chance to play for your hometown team. For Andreessen, that is a reality!

Andreessen becomes the third UB alumni to join the roster, along with cornerback Cam Lewis and cornerback Ja’Marcus Ingram. They will all be together on May 20 to start organized team activity, and who knows? We may just see Andreessen on the field this season!
“It’s amazing,” Andreessen said. “Everything I’ve dreamed of.”

The NFL schedule for the Buffalo Bills should be public on Wednesday, May 15, so we can start planning for our first game of the season.
