There is yet another recall that has been announced that could affect a certain vehicle in New York State. This is the latest of several recalls that have been announced since the start of the year just 4 weeks ago.

It seems we are getting more and more recalls these days and it could be for a variety of reasons. Companies are being extra cautious for safety and there may also be a larger fear of being sued if they are not as transparent as possible. Social media is also making recalls more visible.

But the latest recall is all about safety as the manufacturer announced that there is a serious danger with the airbag system.

The press release from Toyota reported that:

Toyota is issuing an immediate DO NOT DRIVE advisory for certain model year 2003-2004 Corolla, 2003-2004 Corolla Matrix, and model year 2004-2005 RAV4 vehicles in the United States involved in the Takata airbag recalls. Approximately 50,000 vehicles are involved in this notice.

There is a great resource for those who are trying to keep up with the constant flow of recalls and alerts.

To provide better service in alerting the American people to unsafe, hazardous or defective products, six federal agencies with vastly different jurisdictions have joined together to create www.recalls.gov -- a "one stop shop" for U.S. Government recalls.
