This Is Massive News For Farms Across New York State
There is some major news for farms across New York State as a massive amount of money has been aside to help reduce greenhouse gases across the Empire State.
The fall is here and it is harvest time! For the hundreds of New York State farms, that means work-lots and lots of work. From Western New York to the Capital Region, family farms and the larger farms are busy getting their crops in and preparing for the long winter ahead.
But many farms struggle to make ends meet and as the pressures mount from the state and federal government to keep up with environmental laws and requirements, the financial worries also grow.

According to multiple reports and a press release, New York State has set aside millions of dollars for farms to get up to date and up to speed with the goals of eliminating more greenhouse gases. More than $33 million is being granted to help farmers reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental protections.
In the press release from New York State it was noted that: "Altogether, the projects are estimated to reduce greenhouse gases by 120,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year – the equivalent of removing 28,560 gasoline powered vehicles from the road for one year. This is nearly double the impact of the previous round of the program". Here is how the money breaks down...
