
Scary “Quad-Demic” Nears New York State
The winter is chugging along and some health officials in New York State are keeping a close eye on what is being called a Quad-Demic.
Have you been sick this season? Since the start of the year is seems like there are more and more people coughing and sneezing around town. Schools are seeing a larger number of absentees and doctors offices are packed!
But what is making people sick this year?

In portions of New Jersey, doctors are calling this season unique as the "Quad-Demic" is a combination of COVID-19, norovirus, RSV and the flu. According to NJ.com: "Public health experts warn a “quad-demic” — a contagious combination of COVID-19, influenza, RSV and norovirus — has increased pressure on New Jersey hospitals this winter".
There is still time to protect yourself from some of these.
We have four kids who are all under the age of 9. Getting them to make healthy decisions like covering their cough or washing their hands is an ongoing battle. It is that time of the year when there are so many germs coming home and once one of our kids gets sick, it spreads through the house pretty fast.
But the good news is that we are almost to February! Hopefully the spring weather will get here sooner rather than later this year and we can get more fresh air in the house and fight off any infections and germs.
