Love The Gym? New York State Has Big News For Members
If you love going to the gym, or plan to get a new membership, there is a new law in New York State that will have a big impact.
As we start the second month of 2025, many people have already given up on their resolution to lose weight or get back to the gym. It is not easy to keep up with the daily grind and somehow work in a workout.
But New York State is trying to make sure that if you don't want to have a membership at the gym, you can get out of it in an easy way.

New York State Governor, Kathy Hochul, posted about the gym membership laws in New York State over the weekend on her "X" (Twitter) account.
"We’ve put an end to steep cancellation fees, contract technicalities, & other predatory practices that can keep you locked in these contracts. This is your money & it belongs in your pockets".
According to New York State law:
Your contract cannot exceed $3,600 per year (excluding tennis and racquetball facilities).Your contract cannot be for a term longer than 36 months. You must be able to cancel your contract within three days of signing it.
Hopefully the groundhog was wrong and we will have an early spring. The weather has a huge impact on the way we feel and how motivated we are are to work out and get back in to shape.
