Intense Heat Coming For This Portion Of New York State

There is no shortage of summer weather this year for New York State. In fact, as we start August, it is still heating up in portions of the Empire State.

What are you plans before we head back-to-school? Will you take a vacation? Maybe a trip somewhere here in New York State? There are dozens of things to see and do and a few weeks left to get it done.

But the beauty of New York State for many is the fact that we get the seasonal changes. Yes, it is going to be hot! However, we know that the cooler and clearer air of the fall is the payoff and it will be here soon!

According to the National Weather Service based in Bnghamton, New York, the temperatures are about to climb to an intense level this week.

On "X", formerly Twitter, the forecast called for: Warm and humid weather overnight. Thursday will feature hot & humid weather, with an outside chance for a stray afternoon shower or t'storm ⛈️🌡️ Peak heat indices are forecast to be into the 90s for the lower elevations & valleys".

Enjoy the heat this week and, fingers crossed, there will be that cool down we all want when the New York State Fair starts on August 21st!
