As we enter St. Patrick's Day weekend, the annual outdoor burn ban will begin and there are limitations on what and where you can burn things like brush and yard waste.
But the recent wildfires in portions of New York State have raised the awareness of the fire potential we are facing.
If you look around the neighborhoods you live in, you will notice how brown everything is. The sticks, old grasses and leaves that were under the snow are visible and dry. These things are the fuel that a wildfire needs to spread and it only takes small spark to ignite them. Be aware of the laws and the weather to make sure that you are doing your part to limit the chance for a fire to breakout.
