There was a massive cell phone service outage that affected a variety of carriers this week and some in New York State wonder what happens next. While we get ready for the busy weekend here in New York State, AT&T has released some information that should calm some people down.

According to reports, the outage was not from a cyber attack but from an error made when doing certain upgrades. The outage lasted for around 10 hours.

AT&T's outage caused some fears that perhaps this was the result of some sort of nefarious plan or attack.

Early on Thursday, it was reported that AT&T customers were without a cell signal.

Your phone may be in the SOS mode and you will need to keep rebooting it until it clears and finds a sigbal.
