This Is Sean McDermott’s Last Chance In Buffalo
Go Big Or Go Home.
This is what I think Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott needs to do if he wants to coach the Buffalo Bills after this season.
The Buffalo Bills are one of the top teams again this season, but if they fail to win the AFC Championship and make it to the Super Bowl, it is time to move on.
First, let me say, Sean McDermott is a good coach. He builds a great culture, and his players play hard for him.
But, in the end, it is all about winning a Super Bowl, something that McDermott has not done since he joined Buffalo in 2017.
The Good About Sean McDermott
Since he became head coach, the Buffalo Bills have made the playoffs seven out of eight years. The Buffalo Bills have become one of the best teams in the NFL. The Buffalo Bills have had a ton of All-Pros, award winners, and, of course, the NFL MVP winner, Josh Allen, last season.
Sure, a lot of that is on the players, but the coaching has brought out the best in the players.
The Bad About Sean McDermott
As good as the Bills have been in the regular season, winning the AFC East several years in a row, the Bills have not done it in the playoffs.
The Bills have failed to reach the Super Bowl in 7 playoff trips under McDermott. Josh Allen has the most playoff wins of any QB in NFL history, not to reach the Super Bowl.
Allen is a generational talent, and not making it to the Super Bowl is on the head coach.
So if the Bills don't make it to the Super Bowl this season, it is time to find a head coach who can take them over the hump and into the big game.
