Bills Players Who Won’t Play Today Against the Raiders
The 2023 Buffalo Bills home opener is just about here, as the Bills host the Las Vegas Raiders from Highmark Stadium this afternoon. Kickoff is in an hour.
The Bills have for the most part, avoided the injury bug that has gone through the entire NFL. Despite many teams having a long injury report already, the Bills have nobody on their injury report other than center Mitch Morse, was is playing today vs. the Raiders.
As for today's inactives, two popular players will once again not play again.
The Bills will sit both safety Damar Hamlin and cornerback Kaiir Elam.
Hamlin hasn't played a regular season game since his cardiac arrest last January. The Bills are healthy in the secondary and added veteran Taylor Rapp in free agency, so that's not a huge surprise.
As for Elam, he was a first round pick last year. He's been inactive the first two weeks of the season and fans are wondering what the plan is with him the rest of the season? This might indicate the Bills would want to have the draft pick back, as fellow second-year pro Christian Benford will start this week, even though he was a sixth round pick in the same draft class as Elam.
The Bills will have to stop the likes of Josh Jacobs and Davante Adams today, so they need to be on point in both the run and pass defense. They cannot afford to give up another 80-yard run like week 1 against the Jets.
