Did The Bills Just Invent A New Game To Play At Tailgate Parties?
You may have seen a game like this being played before, but the Bills put their own spin on it.
Two things seem pretty obvious about the Bills this year. The first is that they seem to really like being around each other. Multiple times in broadcasts and press conferences you've heard them talking about how close they all are and how much they like being around each other. We've heard about them going to Josh's house for dinners and them going out just to do stuff together quite a bit.
The other thing that seems obvious is that they seem to be lighter. They aren't carrying pressure like they have the last couple of years. A lot of that might be the expectations that were set on this team for the last couple of years compared to the expectations of this year. How many times did we hear that the Bills were Superbowl favorites for the last couple of years? It was a lot.
But this year, a lot of people counted them out after losing so many of their veteran players on both sides of the ball.
When you add those two things together, you get what we saw from them at practice today. As they described it on their social media, it's just "Guys being dudes."
The question is, did they just invent a new game? I mean, essentially it's like the game that a lot of people played in the late 80's and early 90's called "Hackey Sack." In that game, people would stand in a circle and kick around a bag filled with beads until it hit the ground. The Bills were doing the same thing only instead of a small bag with beads, it was a football.
It was actually kind of impressive. If you've ever played Hackey sack, it can be tough to keep it up off the ground. It's even harder with a ball that has two pointed ends.
Now the only question is, what will we call it?
