Forget Andy Warhol's observation about all of us having 15 minutes of fame. Michaele Salahi has pushed her 15 minutes into triple overtime! You may remember that she first reached the news after she and husband Tareq crashed a 2009 White House dinner. Her reward for that stunt? Membership in The Real Housewives Of DC!

But Michaele wasn't done yet [as if being married to the captain of the US Polo team (yeah, Tareq apparently rides a mean horse) wasn't enough]. After Bravo chose not to renew "RHODC"  for a second season, she started working the "I'm a celebrity, so look at me already!" circuit.

Suddenly, Tareq went to the DC police, then the FBI on Tuesday [reported here yesterday], saying  his wife was acting very suspiciously. He'd last seen her early Tuesday, before she went to a hair appointment and a dance class. She called him later that day to inform Tareq that she was headed to her mother's house. Suspicious, Tareq caled his mother-in-law, who said she knew nothing of the visit.

Tareq's manager [starting to get suspicious, folks?] told CNN that he believed Michaele had been abducted, and forced to tell her husband that all was well.

Turns out it was - sort of. TMZ discovered that, far from being kidnapped, Michaele had headed off with Neal Schon, lead guitarist with Journey! Turns out that the Salahi's had been friends with Schon for some time, even inviting him to their winery last year:

A spokesperson for Schon said that Salahi had not been kidnapped, but was with Schon as he toured Tennessee with Journey. TMZ added that Salahi had reportedly dated Schon in the past; Michaele reportedly called their relationship "intimate and passionate".

I'm not horribly suspicious by nature, but this sure looks realy odd to me (I just hope Tareq really wasn't aware of Michaele's whereabouts. If I remember correctly, reporting someone kidnapped who hasn't been is a criminal offense. Then again, if he really wasn't aware, he found out that his wife was cuckolding him from TMZ.  Either way, not too good).

So is this some really strange publicity stunt? Or is it a sad moment in the Salahi marriage?  You tell us, either here or on our Facebook page.
