It will be a warm and VERY windy day across Western New York, and that could have a big impact on your travel around the 716. A major storm front that moved in on Sunday will continue today and into Tuesday, bringing some very windy conditions to the area.

Wind speeds will be between 25 and 35 miles per hour, while gusts could get as high as 60 miles per hour. Those winds could cause issues with downed powerlines, trees, and tree limbs.
The ride around Western New York will be impacted by those winds as well. Debris like tree limbs and garbage bins on the road could cause delays.

Nearly 10,000 people across Western New York are without power this morning due to damage from the winds.
Severe Weather Expected Across Western New York
Along with windy conditions, we will see thunderstorms move into the region today. Much of the heavier rain and thunderstorms will be East of Buffalo; there could still be widespread heavy rain around the region. There is also a slight risk of a Tornado for later this afternoon as well.
