The hot and humid weather will be back across New York State and that had lead the National Weather Service to issue several heat advisories for parts of the state.

Heat Advisories Issued In New York State

A heat advisory is in place today from 11 am until 8 pm for several counties in Western and Central New York. That advisory is in place for Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, Northern Cayuga, Oswego, Jefferson, Livingston, and Ontario counties.


 

Heat advisories are also in place in Eastern and Northern New York. This heat advisory is in place from 11 am until 10 pm and will impact several counties, including Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, Orange, Putnam, and Rockland counties.

The Heat index in these areas could hit triple digits as the day progresses.

If you do have to be outdoors today, make sure you have a plan to stay cool. Have plenty of water and make sure you take frequent breaks to get out of the sun.
