Historically Dyngus Day is a Polish-American tradition that celebrates the end of the often of lent and the joy of Easter. Dyngus is celebrated the Monday after Easter.

Usually, Dyngus Day is celebrated by Polish Americans, but Dyngus Day is celebrated by everyone and anyone. Everyone is Polish on Dyngus Day and if you wear red and white, you will fit right in.
HOW DO PEOPLE CELEBRATE DYNGUS DAY?
Besides eating Polish food, listening to Polish music, and drinking Polish alcohol, there are a couple of other ways to celebrate Dyngus Day. The tradition is that men will tap women with a pussy willow to show they like them and the woman will squirt the men with water from a squirt gun. Of course, you don't have to go out to celebrate. Enjoying some Polish food and drink is 100% totally appropriate as well.
