Thousands of non-profits across Western New York woke up to great news on Wednesday morning.

The Annual Day of Giving in Western New York raised over $1 million dollars. In fact so many people wanted to give back and help out that the organizers of Give 716 Day extended the deadline to give!

The original Give716 Day was supposed to go from Monday at 7:16 pm until Tuesday night at 11 pm. But since so many people still were logging on to give, they extended the deadline to give to Wednesday at 7:16 am.

The final total of money collected for non-profits in Western New York $1,105.129.

The Give716 Day was put together by the Buffalo Bills and Sabres Foundation with the hopes of raising money for the many non-profits in Western New York that need help.

There were seven "power hours" during the event where donations were matched to help raise more money.
