Free Tablets for New York State Inmates

Soon inmates in the New York State Department of Corrections system will have access to free tablets.

According to WENY, the initiative is part of a partnership with another corrections-related service provider, JPay. "JPay is providing DOCCS with the tablets, free of charge."

WENY explains the tablets "will allow them to access e-books and free educational material and to file grievances. However, DOCCS says the tablets will not have internet access."
