Drivers of certain models of Fords could have to take their vehicles back to the dealership after the Ford Motor Company issued a recall over backup cameras.

A recall was issued by the Ford Motor Company for over 50,000 vehicles that include models like Ford Explorers, Lincoln Aviators, Lincoln Corsairs, Ford Edges, and Ford Escapes.

The recall has to do with an issue with the backup cameras that prevents them from displaying the proper image, which could result in an accident.

Three separate recall notices were sent out by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration:

  • The first notice was for certain 2020-23 Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, and 2020-22 Lincoln Corsair vehicles previously repaired incorrectly.
  • The second notice was for certain 2021-22 Edge vehicles previously repaired incorrectly.
  • The third notice for certain 2025 Escape vehicles with incorrect reverse image display.

This is the second recall to impact owners of Lincoln Navigators so far this year.

If you have any of the vehicles affected by the recall, you should contact your local Ford dealership so they can fix the issue. If you are not sure, you can still stop in any Ford Dealership, and they can check to see if your vehicle is part of the recall.

Ford did announce that they are planning on sending our recall notices to owners of the vehicles affected by the recall before the end of the month.

There have been no reports of any injuries associated with accidents involving faulty backup cameras.

For more information about the recall, consumers can visit the online Ford customer service or call 1-866-436-7332.
