Flood Watch In Effect For WNY
A long weekend of rain and sleet has caused several issues along local creeks and rivers in Western New York.
The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Flood Watch for much of Western New York.
The Flood Watch continues for * A portion of western New York...including the following counties...Allegany...Cattaraugus...Chautauqua...Genesee... Livingston...Monroe...Niagara...Northern Erie...Orleans... Southern Erie and Wyoming. * Through Tuesday afternoon. * 1 to 1.5 inches of rain is expected through today. Warmer temperatures during this time will also melt any ice left on the ground which will runoff into area creeks and rivers."A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
