One of the deadliest train accidents in America happened in New York. The Malbone Street Wreck, also known as the Brighton Beach Line Accident, occurred on November 1, 1918, in Brooklyn. The crash resulted in the deaths of between 93 and 102 people, as well as more than 100 people being injured. A Brooklyn Rapid Transit train derailed, causing it to crash into a concrete wall in a tunnel.
Woman Killed By Train In Buffalo
On Sunday, June 30, 2024, A 40-year-old woman was hit and killed by a train. The tragic accident happened near Kensington Avenue and Pauline Street in Buffalo, according to Channel 2. The woman was declared deceased at the scene and police do not suspect foul play. Her identity has not been released to the public yet. This is the second train accident with fatalities within the past two months in the Buffalo area.
3 People Killed After Being Struck By A Train
On Friday, May 17, 2024, three people were killed in Niagara County after a train stuck their vehicle, according to The US Sun. Their Dodge truck was struck by Amtrak train No. 281, traveling from Niagara Falls to New York City. The accident happened near Felton Street and River Road in North Tonawanda around 8 pm. First responders tried to save the three victims but were unsuccessful. The victims included a 6-year-old boy, a 69-year-old man, and a 66-year-old woman, who were all pronounced dead at the scene.
